The Freilichtmuseum in Molfsee is a general-purpose museum with a wide range of collection and exhibition – from the history of the local tenantry from the earliest 16th century to the 20th century. The large ancient historical centrum is spreaded on nearly 40 hectares. In 2020, a new gallery hall with unusual design by the architectural studio – Petersen Pörksen partner, was erected in order to connect the earliest settlement to the present day.
The main bearing construction of the cladding system consists of a wooden truss with steel robust structure. The external design facade with COR-TEN steel finish imitating sheet metal corrosion was projected in large-scale panels. The assembly process was carried out by 2 fork lifts with spreader boom.
The largest pieces weigh up to 500kg.
